There has been a lot of anticipation for the launch of Happy New Year trailer on 14 August 2014. With an all-star cast, it is appropriate that the film is set to release on 23 October 2014 during Diwali, the festival of lights.
Red Chillies Entertainment's marketing team has been busy stoking the flames of fan interest. Besides setting up WhatsApp to send out the trailer to interested fans, they again leveraged the digigraph.me system used for the HNY First Look Posters to generate personalized posters of each member of the "India Waale" gang. They also created stylized "India Waale" cartoons and leveraged a variety of hashtags including #HNYTrailer, #Indiawaale, and #HNYCharlie. And while the USA/Canada SLAM! The Tour in September isn't meant to be a promotional gimmick for Happy New Year, Farah Khan has indicated that the performances crafted for the film lent themselves organically to a stage show.
