As Akshay Kumar celebrates another birthday, we look back over what has been a great year for the Khiladi. Akki worked on at least six movies - several which, upon release, received accolades for story and performance, including Brothers, Gabbar is Back and Baby:
- Fighter Are You Ready? BROTHERS Packs an Emotional Punch
- Reclaiming and Redeeming Gabbar (Gabbar is Back)
- The Changing Face of Hindi Cinema: 5 Reasons to Watch The Film BABY #BabyTheFilm
On par with Hollywood productions, these films upped the game in Bollywood gaining traction in international markets and generating interest with the new-to-Bollywood moviegoer.
His films also brought us some great music as his characters romanced his heroines and fought for justice and against his inner demons. Music became even more integrated into the plot or, in the case of Baby, recapped highlights from the film. We've included a playlist of our favorite songs from Akshay's films arranged from romantic to dynamic.
Keeping up with Akshay Kumar this year was no easy feat. He seemed constantly on the move, filming or promoting films, spending time with family, teaching courses in martial arts, or sharing a thoughtful comment via Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
Rather than try to list his many activities and travels throughout the year, we've pulled together this Twitter retrospective from a handful of timelines, including @akshaykumar. This is followed by tweets from friends, colleagues and some fans wishing Akshay Kumar the best on his 48th birthday.
Happy Birthday, Akshay Kumar! All the best for another great year. Enjoy!
